Self-learner Area
Welcome to the Imperium Self-learner Area. You may note that several things on this page overlap with what you will find in the Student Area. I am commonly approached with specific questions by self-learners, however, so I thought I'd address you a little more personally here.
I have been using your Imperium Book 1 to help me learn Latin, and I absolutely adore it! However as I am learning by myself, I don't have a teacher marking my completed exercises, so I don't actually know if my answers are correct! Is there anywhere that I can get the correct answers for all the exercises in your books?
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful work in making learning Latin fun and easy!

This is perhaps the most common of the issues raised. Whereas schools are encouraged to buy the Site Support Pack for £50, which has full answer grids and all sorts of other resources, I wouldn't want someone working from home to feel a need to do this.
Working alone
What I normally recommend to folks like yourself is that you should use the Audio files each time you complete an assignment you find tricky. They talk you through every exercise in the course and can be purchased this at this link. These were designed very much with self-learners or accelerated programme students in mind, so you can have a teacher thrown in for good measure where and when you feel you need one and they will act in lieu of an answer grid. I have seen some students make incredible progress with these so I hope you will give them a go and let me know if they were useful. Once you get past Chapter 8, I'd urge you to buy and make fullest use of the Imperium Word Tools App. However, please don't just use it by looking at the vocab entry which appears on the first screen: it was designed to help you visualise and contextualise systems, so you should always proceed to the second screen unless you are certain you don't need to. There are versions for iOS devices, Android, PC, Mac or Linux computers. Visit this link to view purchase details.
You probably downloaded your free pdf files from TES Resources but please reflect that this is not a cost-free exercise for me and by charging small amounts of money for the Audio files and the Apps, I can keep the whole project going. I will always try to keep prices as low as I can and I'd ask you please not to share the resources you have bought with others.
Good luck in your endeavours and do please keep me posted. If you're not already following me on twitter, I'd recommend that too as there are often things which get announced there which aren't mentioned anywhere else.
Teaching support
I am happy to talk with students of the course about if and how I could help them in person. Zoom teaching is easy to arrange and for this my charges are £40 per hour, regardless of how many people would be involved. Resources
Rough work sheets can be downloaded from here and printed, which will enable you to use the pdf on screen but also have a sensible place to do your exercises, requiring less printing than might otherwise be the case. Free of charge.
A set of practice tests can be downloaded from here. If you are learning on your own, it's still a good idea to make regular use of the Sine qua non tests. Free of charge.
